Daniele Calisti

Head of Unit Mergers in basic industry, manufacturing and agricultural sectors - DG Comp European Commission

Daniele Calisti is currently Head of Unit in charge of merger policy at the European Commission, and he is responsible for the review of the merger guidelines. A trained lawyer, Dr Calisti joined the Commission in 2008, serving in the policy department and in the merger network, where he headed the Unit responsible for mergers in basic industries and manufacturing.

A graduate of LUISS University in Rome, he holds an LLM from King's College London and a PhD in Public Law of Economics from La Sapienza University of Rome.
