Iacopo Berti

Director of Consumer Protection Department 2 – Italian Antitrust Authority

Iacopo Berti has been Head of the Consumer Protection Department 2 since 1 January 2026.

He previously held the position of Head of the Competition Department 2 (2021-2024), whilst from 2008 he was Head of a Directorate within the Directorate-General for Consumer Protection, of the Manufacturing and Food sector until 2014, and of the Energy and Transport sector from 2015 to 2021.

 Since 1992, he has been an officer at the Italian Competition Authority, where he has consistently carried out investigative work in the fields of competition and consumer protection.

He graduated with a law degree at the University of Florence and obtained an LLM from Indiana University.
